Vercel alternatives for Next.js (with real prices)

Updated 2026-10-21

Vercel is the easiest place to run Next.js, but Pro is billed per developer seat and has many metered line items (data transfer, CDN requests, function CPU and memory, ISR, image optimization). Here are the alternatives, with prices taken from each host's official pricing page.

The options

1. Cloudflare Workers (via OpenNext)

No egress charges, static assets are free, and the Free plan gives 100,000 Worker requests per day. Workers Paid is $5/mo with 10M requests included. Catch: Next.js needs an adapter and the Workers runtime is not Node, so test your app first. Profile

2. Netlify

Closest drop-in experience to Vercel. Credit-based: bandwidth is 20 credits/GB and each production deploy is 15 credits, so frequent deploys count. Profile

3. Fly.io, Railway, Render, DigitalOcean (run next start in a container)

Run Next.js as a normal Node server. You pay for an always-on instance instead of per request, so bills are flatter. Egress differs a lot: Fly.io $0.02/GB (NA/EU), DigitalOcean $0.02/GiB after the allowance, Railway $0.05/GB, Render $0.15/GB after 5 GB. See Railway vs Render vs Fly.io at 100k visits.

4. Self-host with Coolify or Dokploy on a VPS

Coolify self-hosted is free and gives git-push deploys and previews. Put it on a Hetzner server (from €6.49/mo excl. VAT) or a Hostinger VPS (KVM 1 renews at $11.99/mo, 4 TB bandwidth). The bill is the server price, whatever the traffic, but you are the ops team. Coolify · Hetzner
